@ LouisCpro - I recently finished a book on Internet of things, that promote the fact that 802.15.4 based solutions such as ZigBee will supplant all the proprietary solutions in 2 or 3 years from now, because chipset are more and more power efficient, and can be integrated in several typologies such as P2P, MEsh and so on…

What do you think about that ?

I’ve seen specific chips on freescale for example, that are around 2$…

It’s expensive, though :frowning: At least, here in Denmark. It’s near $100 for a wall switch. And customs import tax on electronics makes it not worth while to import :frowning:

I have an X10 remote for my Media Center PC. Even with an extra power supply USB hub for the receiver the maximum distance is 4m without an obstacle. That’s really poor.

Effectively far from the datasheets ! Another standard to forget so… :frowning:

I have the x10 Firecracker working with the rs232 module on a spider if anyone is interested.
