MCP23008 i2c based LCD driver for Adafruit LCD i2c backpack

Just a quick question for the group,

Did somebody have success integrating a driver for Adafruit’s i2c LCD backpack based on the popular MCP23008?

I am looking for such a driver if someone is willing to share it.

In the negative, i will create some code for it and share it with those who would be interested.
