Isn't 80/20 awesome?

So I got this new projector but didn’t want to drill into the wall to mount it. 80/20 to the rescue! And the best surprise was that the grooves in the aluminum extrusion fit the power cord perfectly snug, so the cord is practically invisible.

That is cool. Now if I can convince my wife that I need a projector and that aluminum extrusion is good enough for wall art

@ Iggmoe - +1 for the couch pillow ;p

@ Iggmoe - I second James about the pillow !!!

I’d like to have one of this, but: or my wife or the projector … I’ve not decided yet !

Haha, I got the pillow case by collecting Kellogg’s cereal boxes (it was a mail-in promotion). But it looks like you can buy direct:

Hi,

Just wondering what specific projector clamp/mount you used for this setup? Have been looking for those, but didn’t find anything suitable yet.

Thanks!

I used a wall-mount version of the Peerless PRG-EXA-S (“S” is for silver color, which unfortunately has been discontinued). The remaining available colors are either white or black:

@ Iggmoe - Very nice!

Years ago, I did something similar, but I built my own from scratch, using 3/4" MDF for a mounting box for the projector, and 1" EMT for the uprights. Your solution is much more elegant. And probably more stable as well.

@ devhammer - It actually is pretty stable, and the channels on the extrusion allow easy height adjustments. The grand total came out to $146 for this stand so pretty satisfied with it.

If you consider the cost of time, you probably came out cheaper than my version, too. Nice work.
