How much current can I put on the rail

Hi
I have a electronic question that I don’t know the answer too.
I want to put a Fez LPC chip on the same rail as an component that
needs 2A for short time. I want to use an Switching Regulator that outputs
3.3 -3.4V 3A.
My question is can I put the LPC chip on this same rail without risking to damage it.
I don’t want to use an LDO and a need this BUCK for step-down an 24V supply source.

It is your regulator that handles the current. The USBizi won’t draw more than it needs, and as long as the current is not sourced through an IO pin but directly from the VREG then you will be fine.
