German air controllers urge remote control of planes after crash

Given that planes basically fly themselves anymore, why not would be the question. We have had a couple of whacked out pilot episodes lately where the plane was doing just fine, but the pilot was the total cause of the crash.

Because of the high risk being hacked? ::slight_smile:

I have wondered the same thing. Security is probably the biggest concern. If someone were to hack into the control network you could potentially cause 1000’s of planes to drop from the sky. You probably would need multiple ground control centers around the globe that would have to coordinate the control to prevent 1 ground station from being over run and taking control.
