Gadgeteer's Objective for Next Year - Win This

Now I don’t know why some of these projects are included in this list (rabid fan boy support perhaps) as Gadgeteer would be more deserving then they are are, but perhaps Gadgeteer’s goal next year should be to win this:

I’ve done a number of IOT projects this year and Gadgeteer was the platform that allowed me to easily combined the required hardware with powerful software development tools to create IOT apps that rival anything out there in about a third of the time. Why aren’t Gadgeteer fan boys more rabid, well we are too busy building cool stuff now to go around telling people about all the cool stuff we might be able to build someday.

PS I’m voting for ThingSpeak

Gadgeteer should definitely be on that list. I’ve already decided that my focus for next year’s projects & presentations will be centered around building IoT projects with Gadgeteer. Hopefully, we’ll get Gadgeteer the recognition it deserves.

Regarding this specific list… It’s very hard to take them seriously when one of the devices on the list is Blink. So, I wouldn’t be too concerned about not making that list.

Suckage, some of these are simply suckage or wishful thinking, but there are a couple of gems for possible Gadgeteer modules for example Blood Pressure Sensor (http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/blood-pressure-sensor-sphygmomanometer-ehealth-medical.html) would no doubt be a cool module as would a Glucometer Sensor (http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/glucometer-sensor-ehealth-medical.html), but I’d rather see something better like an eye scan for blood sugar levels.

Dash7 might be interesting as might panStamp. My next IoT project was going to test out Sen.se, I will also add nimbits to the list of servers I will try (or maybe not).

The biggest problem I have with Gadgeteer right now is idea control, in that I have more ideas for devices then I have time to build.

I’m with ya there. So many gadgets, so little time.
