Gadgeteer cable connector part number

The pitch of the wire spacing is what is important. Ribbon cables can have the same size conductors and different spacing.

Indeed. He was asking about conductors size, so the answer is - it varies even for .1 pitch

I’ve got a 40-pin IDE cable here, it’s 28AWG. The cable that came with my GLCD I bought from GHI doesn’t say, and the cable on my Newhaven display (also from GHI) doesn’t say either.

The ribbon cable that SparkFun sells (and implies fits into this breadboard connector) is 28AWG. The pitch indicated on the datasheet for the connector is 1.27 +/- 0.02.

The width of SparkFun’s ribbon cable is 12.7mm, says the datasheet (which makes sense). How far off of that is a Gadgeteer cable?

Sounds like the same.

GHI description shows 0.635mm pitch:

After having seen my first actual Gadgeteer cable in-person now, I can confidently say, there’s no way they’d fit. The Gadgeteer cables are something like 1/2 as wide. I’ll post a comparison later.

Here are the two cables next to each other. The Gadgeteer cable is TINY!

It is not tiny, it is exactly half size
