I would suggest putting this in a notes section of the manual or something. It’s not really the kind of thing that belongs in the ebook.

Better: both. Because people will start making code and do not know why the SD card code gets stuck. If they see the warning, they can fix it.

If I understand correctly, this is hardware issue and will not affect future board revs, so it should be put in the rev specific manual.

The most frustrating part of this situation is that I’ve been seeing this failure not immediately, but after various amounts of time between 1 second and nearly 2 hours into my data logging application. Even with Verbatim cards, I was consistently failing around 7 minutes into my execution. For the record, all I’m doing is simple USB Host->SD card writes of not more than a few hundred bytes of data/sec.

If you think you see the same issue with other Cards, this does not mean that it is related to the same cause. There is always a place for software enhancement. So please don’t take the mentioned issue as a rule that can be applied always.
But of course you can try to add the 10uF capacitor to see if the problem with the verbatim disappears. your test result can help others too.
