FEZig?

Ooooh… My home automation dreams would be complete with a FEZ Mini version of this…

Funny, talk to Joe about FEZ Bee. He is a big fan of wireless.

FEZ Bee, huh? I like his name better

Joe, is this something real we might see some day?

I saw a guy demo something very similar on Adafruit’s saturday night show and tell (Google+). Great idea. Another reasonably affordable approach is this: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10822 . I got one last week and it was really easy to set up and even comes with a built in web client to post sensor data to any web server! Xbee form factor means it drops into existing adapters, including the one GHI has. There is a model with the bigger externally mountable antenna, but SF doesn’t carry it. Having built in wireless on a board would be sweet. Anybody around here want to design a FEZ one?

Not ZigBee related but i’m working on a driver for the HopeRF RFM12B tranceiver (433 and 868 Mhz).
If anyone wants to collaborate…

Greetings.

FEZ Bee will land here someday 8)

 I hope there will be honeyBee (standard XBee) and bumbleBee (XBee Pro) versions. I can think of many uses for both.

Every board on my desk right now has an XBee attached to it. I’d love to be able to reduce that bulk and reduce the cost.

sounds good, I am waiting for it.

Also not ZigBee related, but i recommend trying Nordic nRF24L01+ modules. Cheap and easy
