FEZ Hydra video and some free samples!

Am I seeing this right??? Is that a MT48LC8M16A2P-75 IT 128MB RAM chip on there???

Isn’t that part 128 Megabit or 8MegaByte in 16bit configuration.

Ah… I think you’re right. What happens when software guys try to read data sheets… But that doesn’t seem to make sense either. I can’t imagine the Hydra has less RAM than the Spider. I think we need to see the other side of this monster!

There is nothing on the other side. The picture was posted on the other topic. I think there were just 2 passives.

…so may be the chip is used in a 8bit configuration giving 16MB.

This is becoming like the 5 blind men and the elephant… fun times.

Or its split into two banks, 1/2 flash & 1/2 Ram.

Lets just wait for GUS to post some details.

Rajesh said it is 8Mega with 16 bit configuration so it is 16MBytes = EMX’s memory.

Now, what would be the fun in that…

Good news Joe!

You guys are over thinking this. 128megabit = 16megabyte simple

Looks like time to lock that thread as well ;D

I don’t know the price of the component, but I would say that putting more than 80-100€ in that kind of system would be great. (I mean, just the main board, without any block or extension)

Price is below expectation ! :o

I will have to wait till December :wall:

 Once again, GHI !

Is there an announcement here somewhere that I missed???

http://www.ghielectronics.com/catalog/product/328

And yes! Great price level!

Wow! That is an incredible price. Why would anyone continue to buy the Spider?

$79!! Fantastic pricing! … hope they will ship by Christmas.

No, at least not that I can remember, but I was comparing it to the Spider and was expecting something similar or higher. Maybe it’s only an introduction price that will raise afterwards ?

Btw, I’m thinking the same thing about the Spider, now

I noticed a few things…

There is not an H socket, so host USB is not supported.

Ethernet support for the Hydra requires a module which costs $35. The module for the Spider costs $14.

The Hydra has high speed USB versus fast USB of the Spider. Programs will load faster.

Announcement is up and this thread is now locked http://tinyclr.com/forum/15/4667/
