Fez Cerb 40 II RTC strange problem

I am re-posting this issue on here under “System on Module” instead of General Discussion.

The RTC on Fez 40 II seem to be not working at all. It does not set the date time and keep returning Jan. 1, 1980. There is another post about this problem one year ago, but still no solution https://www.ghielectronics.com/community/forum/topic?id=15706

Seem like no one from GHI is willing to give some advises on this matter since then. I am prototyping and hopefully can use the Fez 40 II for the final product…

I’ve included a sample code with the output. I thought maybe some of the new codes I’ve added to the project that might change something so I’ve create short snippet to test the RTC and it is still producing the same code.

I am using VS2013 with NETMF and Gadgeteer Package 2014 R5 sdk.

I’ve also tried to reflash the firmware a few times. Also tried on 4 other Fez cerb 40 II that I have.

Please have a look, thank you.

DateTime dt = new DateTime(2015, 6, 14, 1, 1, 1);
while(true)
{
try
{
RealTimeClock.SetDateTime(dt);
}
catch
{
Debug.Print(“Set RTC failed.”);
}
Thread.Sleep(5000);
try
{
DateTime rtcDt = RealTimeClock.GetDateTime();
Debug.Print(rtcDt.ToString());
}
catch
{
Debug.Print(“Get RTC failed.”);
}
}

}
}
}

To GHI Team,

I hope I’m missing something and if I do please advise. I’ve tried the same code on the G120 Cobra 2 board and on a custom pcb board with the G120 chip and the RTC works as expected. However, on the Fez cerb 40 II it still returning Jan. 1 , 1980.

To all who bought the Fez cerb 40 II, please if you can test out the RTC and let me know if you all have the same problem?

Thanks so much

I’ve finally got the RTC to work normally again. I don’t know if it’s a solution or not but I uninstalled everything and reinstall everything back including VS 2013 and it is working fine.

Double posts do not get fastest answers but I am glad it is working for you.

Sorry Gus for the double posts as I realized I was posting under the wrong subject, so I thought I would put the post under a more appropriate subject.

thanks
