Excessive RTC current on EMX; shock related?

Hi All,

We recently witnessed an apparent hardware failure on an EMX and are wondering if anyone has seen similar before.

Current draw on RTC_VBAT exceeds 400mA, and the resistance to ground through the RTC_VBAT (pin 28) when the unit is off is only 1.7 ohms.

Has anyone seen this type of failure before?

It happened after the EMX sustained a shock load from falling to the floor.
Are there any shock or vibration specifications for the EMX?

Very strange issue. Not sure how to explain it.

We haven’t done any vibration testing but the module is very solid with no connectors so it should sustain shocks and high vibration.
