Dual Channel CAN

I need to create a device that has 2 Can Channels I see that the FEZ Spider has 2 CAN channels but I cannot find any information on the DW Can Module is this single CAN Channel or Dual CAN Channel’s If it is single How would I connect 2 of these to my FEZ Spider? If Dual channel what db9 pins are used for each channel?

The first channel is wired standard gadgeteer, plug and play.

The second channel will require some simple wiring. Get some breakout modules in your kit and will show you how to wire it please.

Also if I wire CAN Channel 1 to PORT 6(C) on my FEZ SPIDER then what port does the breakout go on and what pins to I wire the db9 to?

I am still trying to figure out how to do this does anyone know how to configure 2 Can Channels what ports should I use what breakout do I need to buy and do I need something other than the DW CAN Module for the second channel?

Answers that I am looking for
1 - What additional parts are required to do 2 CAN channels on the FEZ SPIDER
2- What ports do i connect to for the additional CAN channel
3- What ports do i solder to the breakout board

Sorry my reply was not clear, but already listed what you need:

  1. spider (preferably kit or oyu will have to buy USB DP module)
  2. breakout module set (you can use extender if you want but breakout is cheaper). Actually the community offer rewire module as well, which is easiest in this case.
  3. 2x CAN HS modules

As for wiring, you will use 2 of the breakout modules you get in the kit to rewire the CAN channels properly. you can either use spider schematics or we can show you how ot do it when you are ready to do some soldering. This will help as well Home - GHI Electronics
