Do I need to filter my 5V switching power supply lines to my board?

Just a quick question. I’m running a NFM-20-5 power supply (http://www.meanwell.com/search/nfm-20/nfm-20-spec.pdf) to power my board running the EMX. I was wondering how important it is to filter the inputs of these sort of power supplies for long term reliability of the EMX board and LED back light drivers on the TFT screens etc. Sorry for the newbie questions guys.

Any information and or links would be really appreciated.

You do not have to do anything special. Basically whatever the power supply maker recommends.

If the 80mv ripple is not causing you any problems (should not). Then you don’t need to do a thing. If you have other things powered by this supply that have sudden large current draws then an largish capacitor can help even out the load the supply sees.

Thank you very much guys!
