Cerbuino Bee not recognized

Yesterday I received my first Cerbuino Bee and also my first GHI board.
When trying to connect the USB Mini plug, I found there was a small piece of plastic inside the board plug. I removed it and plugged the board to the PC. Two LEDs lighted up.
Trying to find the firmware version I started MFDeploy.exe but the Cerbuino Bee board does not appear on the drop down.
If I plug in a Netduino board, and the Netduino appears immediately… :-/

@ aalmada - that doesn’t sound overly normal…
Does the socket on the bee look damaged? As in does the piece of plastic belong to the socket?

@ aalmada - I have just got into the office and plugged in my bee and as i thought with power only the top red PWR led comes on…not both…

The plastic piece seems to be made of the same material as the rest of the plug. It came off easily and the plug doesn’t seem to be damaged.
Attached is a picture of the plastic piece…

I forgot to mention I have installed:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional
  • Microsoft .NET Micro Framework SDK 4.2 (QFE2)
  • Microsoft Gadgeteer Core 2.42.600.0
  • GHI .NET Gadgeteer SDK
  • GHI NETMF USB Drivers 1.0.0
  • GHI OSHW NETMF v4.2 SDK 0.0.7
  • GHI Premium NETMF v4.2 SDK 0.0.5

and when you plug it in both PWR and LED1 come on?

I upgraded the firmware and it seems to be fixed. It’s recognized by MFDeploy and only one LED lights up.

@ aalmada - Excellent news

Just to confirm that everything’s fine, I have a small application using the 4.2 PWM class working.
Thanks again…

@ aalmada - Excellent, always good to see a servo turning
