By breathing, I assume you meaning dimming. You could just use a PWM pin also.

Yes, the nice sleep effect some computer companies have on there power LED when the computer is in hibernate.

I thought that there would be a nice and tiny pattern for the signal generator. But when I look at it seams that the pattern would be very long as the “breath” cycle is about 5 seconds.

I have to see if it looks good in managed pwm code.
