Has anyone tried this or know if it is feasible or have some tokens handy to test? I don’t have any right now and would hate to spend the money on them if it wouldn’t work.
My goal is to have 3 BLE readers around a 16" - 18" circle and track a iBeacon style token outside the ring.
I’ve found papers talking about general locations inside a perimeter, but nothing outside.
In what sort of environment (indoor, outdoor, built up etc)?
What accuracy would you consider to be success?
Your setup is more akin to direction finding than triangulation.
Presuming signal strength is your main tool it can change very quickly and unpredictable(without complex modelling) over short distances. Have a look at some of the charts here as an example.
