Thanks Chimp, Raven and Rajesh, I sorted out the problem. Looks like Terraterm does not work well in XP.
So for you folks in XP and found terra term not working for you, you may give the built in HyperTerminal for a try. Leave all settings intact and follow the procedures as in the youtube video. (“X” for file transfer mode)
To transfer the firmware, click on the “Transfer” menu and click on “Send File…” A dialog box will pop up asking for the firmware. Direct it to the location of the firmware. Next choose 1K-XMODEM as the protocol.
So if you run into problems with terraterm, give HyperTerminal a try.
