8020 ideas applied

After reading about the Gadgeteer project, it got me thinking about physical standards for bringing the chips to life and prototyping gadgets (i.e. hw, arms, end-of-arm, motors, etc). 8020 (the Industrial Erector set) uses a virtual 1" grid for everthing (or metric). So every hole and piece will eventually align on 1" boundary. Eliminates a lot of other custom parts and hacks because everything can be made to fit easy. Naturally, this would apply most directly to robots, but can be anything (cnc, etc). Summary, make a miniture 8020 space to make building EZ too. All kinds of kits can be created leveraging same parts.
