7" display on EMX

Dears

I have a 7" display on stock and I tried to connect it to the EXM. Unfortunately, the display has for each of the color channel 6 bits, the EMX supports only 5 bits for the red and blue channel. The green has 6 bits.

The display works, but the colors are not acceptable, because the EXM supports RGB 565 and the display can works with RGB666.

If it is possible to change some settings in the

Configuration.LCD.Configurations

?

Thanks for the support.

Colors should look perfect. Connect the lower bits on your display to ground.

Thanks Gus, it works perfect!

Does this apply for displays that use 8 bits for each color? Most displays I have been finding have 8 channels per color. 320 x 240 (QVGA)

Do the extra bits just get connected to ground or is there only certain types of displays with less color channels that will work?

This is the one that I am looking at: http://search.digikey.com/ca/en/products/T-55343GD035JU-LW-AEN/73-1339-ND/1972908

Correct

Just one thing else,

In any case, always connect the unused LSB to ground, not the MSB,so that it will have minor impact on color restitution, but I guess it was clear for anyone…
