7 Critical Things They Don’t Teach You in EE School

Interesting article. I would guess it applies to almost everyone on this forum!

Actually when I was in school they did teach about all these topics. But it was in the Eastern Europe and about 30 years ago. I already forgot most of it

uh…I don’t remember any of that stuff.

no wonder this stuff is hard

Yea, I am a Software Developer, so Maxwell Equations aren’t anywhere on my radar.

I went through EE and CprE (computer engineering) programs back in the 80’s. I switched over to Computer Science (with an automatic math minor, of course) in the final year of way-too-long university stint, because I figured out that was the part that I was actually enjoying. Nonetheless, I do recall each of those topics being covered. The one I missed out on was FPGA programming, as those were just coming into fashion as I was finishing up. The whole analog power-line/EE stuff and all those integrals is probably what scared me away. I still treat digital circuits like tinker toys and ignore the analog side of things, which is probably why I make a better programmer than circuit jockey.
